Teuscher is a chocolatier based on Switzerland with a lot of branches in the different cities around the world. They manufacture hundreds of varieties of confections, pastries and cookies which are famous worldwide. These are freshly made every week or two and flown directly to their different branches around the world from their headquarters.

There are many people who likes eating them and wants to taste the best one they can find. One of these are the Teuscher Chocolates who have been praised by many for their top quality taste and texture. Here are some basic information about chocolates that you would like to add to your knowledge of everyday things.

They are made when a cacao tree fruit is being crushed to produce an unsweetened chocolate. When the fruits are crushed, they leave a fatty and solid substance which are called cocoa butter and cocoa powder respectively. Cocoa powder is the solid one that has been ground. The tree has a scientific name that is called food of gods when translated.

Forty million or fifty million have the harvesting and manufacturing of chocolate as their main source of livelihood or income. Chocolate bars have a label indicating the percentage of how much cacao solid it contains. Although white variants do not contain any cacao solids, to be considered as a chocolate, they should contain cocoa butter.

The chocolates are one of the most popular gifts people present to their loved ones specially during Valentines day. Millions are being sold during this day specially those that are packaged inside boxes shaped like a heart. Here are some tips in buying some good quality ones to have the perfect gift ready.

Check the ingredients to see if cocoa is on the top of the list and avoid those which have ingredients that are difficult to pronounce. See when it was manufactured also and the fresher more recent ones will have better quality obviously. Different kinds of chocolates can be stored for different lengths of time before they are not advisable for consumption.

It should also smell like chocolate and not something else because they tend to absorb the odor of their environment meaning it was not stored well. Having no smell also indicates its poor quality or it being already old. Their surface should look glossy and is consistent and does not have any blemishes if you are able see them.

To further test them after buying, break it and it must have a clean snapping sound that indicates good quality. Milk and vanilla ones tend to bend rather than break because of their high milk and sugar content. And finally, taste them because everyone has a different preference although good ones will melt in the mouth immediately and those that are inferior will feel grainy.

They are healthy foods because of the antioxidants inside them which are good against free radicals. Avoid purchasing those labeled as dutched chocolate because the alkalizing process reduces healthy compounds good for the heart. Where the ingredient originated is not important because their taste and quality has almost no differences.
