Brunches refer to meals that are taken in the hours of the day that fall between breakfast and lunch, usually in the late mornings. The intention is to skip breakfast and lunch so that the two are combined into a single brunch. Later risers are the ones that take this meal more often. Some people may also still rise up early but still plan to have a brunch in the place of eating lunch and breakfast separately.

The first two letter of the name brunch are the first two letter of the name breakfast while the last three letters come from the work lunch. Brunch in Colorado is considered a typical and common meal in which residents have a habit of engaging in. Although the meal is very popular in the US, it owes its origin to British college students. An article in Punch magazine states that the term was first used by students as a slang in 1896.

Mostly, people take brunches when they have engaged in form kind of activity during the morning. Also, the meal may be taken prior to engaging in some activity during the afternoon. Sporting events and weddings are among the activities that people engage in before or after taking brunches. The meal is considered to be appropriate for informal celebrations because it is very relaxing. The popularity of this meal is growing fast worldwide.

Many ways have been used to promote brunches including film. Many movies exist whose theme is brunch. In Colorado, there is a huge number of restaurants and hotels that serve brunches. The meal is usually made a holiday or weekend specialty. The meals are served as buffets where customers are allowed to serve themselves. Brunches can also be ordered from the menu.

Brunches consist of standard breakfast foods, which include bacon, ham, sausages, eggs, pastries, pancakes, and fruits. Any food item that is served during the day may also be included in the menu. When the meal is served as a buffet, it may include smoked fish, soups, large roasts of poultry/meat, salads, vegetable dishes, deserts, and cold seafood.

Chinese restaurants around the world are popularly known for serving customers with brunches. In Chinese restaurants located in Colorado, brunches include several different kinds of foods, which include steamed, baked, deep-fried, and stuffed meals. These foods are supplied on carts that are passed around the restaurants and customers pick the foods they want from the carts.

The carts are moved in circles until the food runs out. The cart is then returned to the kitchen for resupply of food. Food is prepared non-stop in the kitchen to serve the needs of everybody. How frequently brunches are prepared in a restaurant usually depend on what preferences the public has.

Restaurants usually prepare brunches for customer who place reservations in advance. Brunches are sold at flat rates in most cases. Anyone who takes part in the buffet usually pays a given fixed amount regardless of how much they eat. In some rare cases, customers may have to pay for every food item that is included into the menu.
