Gluten Free Gum Substitute For Healthy Baked Treats

If you suffer from celiac disease or from a gluten allergy, you won't be able to pick up baked treats in stores like everyone else. If you have a severe allergy even the smell of the bakery aisle can leave you feeling sick. So, shopping for your groceries is not a great experience and there are so many tasty looking treats on sale that you can't eat. So, if you want to be able to eat pastries, invest in some gluten free gum substitute and corn or rice flour.

What flour contains a natural binding agent that help bread and pastry mixes stick together, But if you can't bake with traditional flour, you can try with corn or rice. These flours are very dry however, and to make them work like normal you should add some xanthan gum. Without the gum your mix will be dry and crumbly no matter how much water you add. So, if your mix keeps falling to pieces, it's because you need gum in it to stick it together.

When you add this gum to your mixtures and dough, it will have the correct texture and you'll be able to knead it with ease. You can recreate almost anything that you find in the bread aisle in your local stores, something things like cookies being easier than puff pasty slices.

Cutting out gluten from your diet does not have to be too difficult any more. As an allergy that is recognized, you may also find eating out is easy. Restaurants will offer pasta and bread dishes at affordable prices. This combined with you home baked treats means you'll live a totally normal life.
